The WordPress Block Editor allows you to add and customize content using “blocks,” which are elements like paragraphs, images, buttons, and more. Here are the basics to help you get started.
Inserting Blocks
To add a new block:
- Click the + icon in the top-left corner or at the side of a block.
- Select a block type (paragraph, heading, image, etc.).
- Begin typing or upload content.

Moving and Rearranging Blocks
Use the up/down arrows or drag-and-drop handle to move blocks within your content.

Common Block Types
- Paragraph: Standard text.
- Heading: For titles and section headings.
- Image: Upload or choose from your media library.
- List: Bulleted or numbered lists.
- Quote: Stylized quotations.
- Button: Clickable buttons that can link elsewhere.

Using the Settings Panel
Click on a block, then use the Settings Sidebar to customize:
- Alignment
- Colors
- Fonts
- Advanced settings

Adding Media
To add images, audio, or video:
- Click the + icon.
- Choose the appropriate media block.
- Upload or select from the media library.

Publishing and Updating
- Click Publish to make your site live.
- Click Update to save changes to existing content.
- Use Preview to see how it looks before publishing.
Tips
- Use the Undo/Redo buttons to revert changes.
- Use keyboard shortcuts like
Ctrl+Z(Undo),Ctrl+Y(Redo).
